My daughter was born at 33 weeks following an abruption . Shes fine now thank goodness but im still mulling over the fact that i had bleeding for 3 weeks prior to this. The consultant i attended missed this and treated me for an errosion instead, ( a lletz at 32 wks pregnant which was unneccessary in the end). Im so angry as i had went private due to this being my 4th caesarean and i was afraid of any complications. How can the doctor have missed this? Has anyone had similar experience?

Sorry to hear about the abruption.

I've had 2 abruptions, 1 concealed & resulted in my daughter being stillborn & the other i lost a huge amount of blood but thankfully they save my 2nd daughter & myself in time.

I don't have any experience with the bleeding later in pregnancy, i only had early bleeding.
There were no signs or anything for either of my abruptions so there was nothing that i could have done or a doctor could have done to effect the outcome.

I think that you should speak with the consultant who was seeing you or ask to speak to another consultant to talk to them about it.

Just wondering, when you were bleeding did they scan you during that time?

Goodness me, how scary for you. Have you got copies of your notes? And sorry serendipity

That doesn't sound good that it was missed. I would have thought any bleeding should have been thoroughly checked although I think it is difficult to tell if an abruption is likely. I do have friends who have bled through pregnancy but all was well.

I had an abruption at 39 weeks - we should be thankful that both of us survived but DD will have lifelong physical problems as a result

So sorry for your loss serendipity...
