Could you recommend a brand that worked well for you? I need to improve my sleep urgently.
Thanks you

I have a dream genii, found it good at first but have now gone back to using a couple of normal pillows propped around me. I'm quite short/small though and think the dream genii was maybe a bit big for me.

I've got 2 cushions from Ikea much cheaper than a pregnancy pillow!

I've just bought a lovely one from the white company plus a couple of covers.

Not too badly priced if you use one of their (numerous!) discount codes!

Apphia
Could you give me a link to the white company pillow that you got? I like white company.

I've got a basic one from Mothercare and love it. I find that I have to switch sides a few times in the night or I get too stiff, so this pillow probably suits me better than a Dream Genii as I can roll over with mine and use it on the other side no problem.

I got lent one of those big, long blue snake type pillows. You're supposed to put it between your legs then round and under your belly and under your head. Which would ne fine if you didn't wake up a million times in the night to pee/swig gaviscon and then have to go through the whole palaver again each time.

I got one shaped like a wedge from mothercare (they are very firm), which was ok in the second trimester as it supported the growing bump, but now feels uncomfortable as bump is large and i have gone back to using a bog standard pillow between my knees as it's so much softer...

AnnaAug · 23/07/2010 11:42

I also have a dream genii pillow but unfortunately don't get on with it - but as MoonUnitAlpha said, I think I might be a bit short for it! Thankfully it doubles as a breast feeding support so it?ll still be useful.

I?m sleeping with one pillow either side of me (one for bump, one for back) and one between my legs - plenty of support whichever way I roll and no waking up to move things around! It's a nice cheasp option too!

silver28 · 23/07/2010 12:21

i used a feeding pillow (V shaped) from dunelm mill. was nice and cheap (about £1o iirc) and used it for 18 months afetr the birsth for breastfeeding support, so got my money's worth.

There was another thread about this a week or so ago so you might find some other suggestions on there.

anonMum2 · 23/07/2010 19:42

I really liked my dream genii pillow when pregnant but it's rubbish as a feeding pillow.

babynelly2010 · 25/07/2010 19:16

I just got the dream genii pillow for 25 GBP at TKmaxx!
It is so comfy.

Thank you for all the advice!

I tried a soft bolster pillow but it was useless - too long, didn't support tummy properly.

I might need something else later on, but at the moment I'm doing fine with a very squishy bed pillow between my knees and under belly. (It's goose down, very very soft and supportive. Very old though, so I don't feel guilty using it like that!)

blowninonabreeze · 25/07/2010 21:40

I found the Big V by theraline fantastic.

Its a little like a bean bag with tiny soft pearls inside it, fantastic for breast feeding DD1 (I brought it when she was 2 weeks) and brillient in pregnancy with DD2. It went everywhere with me.

We got it from JL

Darceysmummy · 26/07/2010 17:34

I used the dreamgenii pillow it was fab I'm average height at 5"5 and was just right it supported me in all the right places. It also was really useful afterwards if you can think that far with using it as a back support and feeding pillow. HTH x

MrsGangly · 26/07/2010 17:37

I've said it before but I love my Dream-Genii pillow - it has transformed my sleep. I don't wake up overnight at all at the moment, which is not bad going given that I am now overdue!

ReeceM · 01/08/2010 22:36

The Dreamgenii pillow was a godsend! I was able to lie on my left and feel supported and comfortable. It also made a very good breastfeeding support pillow so I felt like I really had my money's worth. There is a really good demonstration video on YouTube.
