Nausea in third trimester

I'm currently 31 weeks and have had nausea for the last 3 weeks. It started off just slight in the middle of the night but it's now pretty much constant along with a really fuzzy head and struggling to focus very well. I didn't really have any morning sickness in early pregnancy so I don't understand why it's happening now. I've read that some women get it along with heart burn but I haven't had any heart burn or indigestion at all. However, I do have an incredible constant sharp pain on the other side of my abdomen where my liver is (or used to be anyway, not sure where all my organs have moved to!) could this be linked?
Should I just speak to my midwife about it?

I think you should contact your midwife to tell her these symptoms. have you had a check recently or are you due one soon?

I had a check 2 weeks ago and am due to have one in a week. I din't mention it last time because the nausea was so mild and infrequent that I kind of didn't think to ask about it. I'm not sure whether to wait. If it's all fine I'll feel stupid asking for a special appointment, but if it's not I'll regret it if I've waited for another week.

I agree with cupofcoffee speak to your m/w

When carrying DS, I had hardly any MS in 1st trimester but had horrible sickness later in the pg - it turned out to be caused by a viral infection.

Better to be safe than sorry x

You do really need to call your midwife to tell her what is going on. There are several possible reasons for what you are experiencing including as parkj83 says a viral infection, other things such as anaemia or blood pressure dropping a bit low (common in preg) could also be contributing. But pre-eclampsia can cause symptoms like you are having so it is certainly not a waste of an appointment to check.

And you should never feel stupid for asking your midwife, far better to check and all be ok than wait and regret getting more ill.

As a mideife I would urge you to see your own midwife or call the hospital assessment unit and get seen for all the reasons that have been posted already.
