Im totally in two minds...

I can see that a lovely surprise would come at the end of all that hard work, but Ive also heard that 'it could be an animal at that point, you wont even care'!

I also think finding out might make the pregnancy feel more 'real', but at the same time, I want a good old fashioned pregnancy where its a mystery with people taking bets and stuff.

Help!

Massive, the way I look at it is that your reason for not lnowing is another persons reason to know. Id rather have a moment of disappointment before the baby cones and get it out of the way, if that makes sense

Im so very glad we know. I can sort things out, get my knitting in order, finalise names and sort out my competitive SIL (who also has a boy)

I think Id definately find out again, it was lovely. Although saying that I havent gone through childbirth. Perhaps I'll change my mind and wish I hadnt known.

Im very happy for now anyway!

Which is all that matters. Your body, your baby, your choice. I'm glad you're glad! Enjoy the rest of your pg.

VMCD, I just wonder whether you would have the same disappointment in the whole euphoria of actually having a baby. Having done both I would recommend not, but you never know how you are going to feel.

I wanted to know in both my pregnancies and asked at the 20 week scan. Before the scan, I had made my guesses, which turned out to be right. I didn't "need" to know for any decorating, shopping, etc purposes. And I didn't need the added surprise element of not knowing either, I find it exciting enough as it is! I was never in 2 minds or regretted the decision of finding out. And I would find out again if I had a third.

I'm having twins, and finding that out at the 13 week scan was surprise enough! Now we are dying to know what they are and will be using our 22 week scan next week to find out.
