ok so im 34 weeks been to see midwife today, she had a good feel of my tummy and said that the babys head is low for a first baby....

got another to have a feel who agreed.

but didnt explain what implications this could have.

didnt really think about it until now.

anyone had experience of this?

well, I think they mean the head is engaged - but that can be the case for weeks before delivery, so doesn't mean anything necessarily in itself. If it did have any significant implications I'm sure they'd have explained them to you at the time.

I'm not sure about the "for a first baby" remark - if anything, from what I've heard, first babies tend to engage earlier than subsequent babies, because the uterine muscles are more toned and they've got less room.

yeah, I was told when I had early contractions that second babies ususally don't engage until the very last minute. I would not say your situation is unusual.

Mine is also very low and has been since 33 weeks, i'm now 35. I can feel when he moves his head as it rubs on my pelvis!! NOT comfortable, and doesn't help the SPD.

I was kinda hoping that all this would mean he might pop out on time, or even a little early, but apparently it has no bearing on arrival times!
