Hi everyone

Am on my 4th pregnancy following the neonatal death of my daughter, 1 MC at 6 wks and 1 chemicaln. I have had acupuncture to help me get pregnant and found that I conceived in the same month on both occasions. Just wondered if anyone had it in early pregnancy to help with implantation?

Many thanks.

Sh77, I am terribly sorry about your loss - and congratulations on the pregnancy!

I had an IVF, with acupuncture immediately before and after embryo transfer (literally within minutes). The chap who did it suggested that I should avoid any acupuncture in pregnancy, esp in the first trimester. He was very positive about acupuncture in the run-up to embryo collection and transfer, but cautioned against it afterwards.

Good luck, wishing you all the best with the baby!!

Hello sh77

I'm so sorry for your loss; but congratulations on your pregnancy.

I had acupuncture once a week during the first trimester - I've never heard it should be avoided. I went to a fertility and pregnancy specialist who usually works at a leading clinic on Harley Street but comes to Brighton once a week. She was great, it was great and I think it did me loads of good. I am 18 weeks. My 12 week scan was fab - everything looked very good.

Good luck

hi sh77

Like seasister I am having weekly acu; I am 7 weeks. I started seeing my acupuncturist after 2 MMCs in the last year. As long as the acupuncturist is aware you are pg and will treat you accordingly, I have never heard of it NOT being ok.

Good luck.

Thank you all so much. I am so paranoid but trying to get through each day.

I read that if you don't go to an experienced/fertlity ac. specialist, there is a risk of using the wrong points, which can cause uterine contractions.

Wishing you all a peacful and healthy pregnancy.
xx

My GP did acupuncture in my first trimester to try and help my morning sickness, have since been diagnosed with hyperemesis which would explain why it didn't work but she was quite sure it was safe and is often recommended for morning sickness
