Hi guys.

Feeling a bit low today and just looking for some reassurance/advice.

Was really poorly on Friday/Sat - spent Friday night throwing up the curry I had had for tea (am 30 weeks and have been eating them all the way through!), then just had no energy at all on sat so spent whole day in bed!

But even before Friday night I've found that am really having to force myself to eat, even more so since puking my guts up on Fri nite! Just had the most almighty battle with a ham sandwich for lunch!!

Any one else feel like this - am normally a really good eater and am worried that I am harming baby....

Sorry you're feeling rubbish. But you'll be fine, and so will baby, so long as you stay hydrated - keep taking little sips of water. Hope you start feeling better soon.

My baby is very high and I just think there isn't much space for my stomach. I am eating much smaller portions than I did before and I often only have 1 slice of bread instead of 2 when I'm having a sandwich.

I need to eat every 2-3 hours so I am eating small amounts regularly but not as much as I did hence still being the same weight at 33 weeks pregnant.

I am also being sick at least once a week if I eat food which is too rich, I eat too much in one sitting or I eat too late at night and I'm then sick when I lay down. It takes a long time to digest my food, especially if it is high in fat as I would suspect your curry was.

If you are worried about the amount you are keeping down then contact your midwife or go to the doctors but don't worry about the baby, it will take what it needs and you will get what's left.

Thanks both.

I'm actually a stone lighter than when I conceived - however the midwife isn't worried about this.xx

Don't worry about throwing up. If you were one of the unlucky ones to have bad morning sickness all the way through your pregnancy then this would be happening on a regular basis.

In my first trimester (and the start of the second), I had awful awful awful morning sickness and lost over half a stone. I could barely eat at all and really only ate toast with a scraping of marmite and never had supper as I felt appalling in the evenings.

The midwife was not fazed at all and said that even if I was sick all the way through the baby would be fine and I would be the one who came out of it feeling like rubbish.
Basically the mother comes off worse.

So don't worry that you are harming your baby because you are not. You will soon get your appetite back. Just keep sipping the water and maybe try some lucozade.
