Ridiculous question - pushchair colour

OK, so after much debate and consideration I think we have decided on the Britax Be-Smart 3 travel system. Here's the question though. DH wants to get the denim colour. We don't know if we're having a boy or a a girl. Do you think there is a potential flaw here? The denim is just the highlight colour, other options being red, green or black (all of which are cheaper, the denim for some reason costs more)

I would recommend against denim for a pram colour no matter what brand.

it has a tendency to show sun-damage very easily, especially if it's a dark denim. It's something to do with the dying process.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. I try and steer people away from denim if there are alternatives, even if we have a denim on dispaly.

Denim is gender neutral, but so would any of the other colours. Esp green and black. We nearly went for this pram, I suspect we would have gone for black.

I've got the Be-Smart 3 travel system in green and it looks really good, also thought it might stand out from other prams a bit more. I agree with the other 2 posters, I was concerned about denim fading so avoided that one, the other colours are fine for boy or girl so just depends which you prefer.

Don't think denim is gender specific but would take what differentID says on board about fading.

Personally would also avoid black as it think it could get hot in the summer.

Green, black and red don't sound gender specific to me and if they are cheaper they would be a preferred option for me. As for denim I am inclined to say the same about fading to be honest.
Of course it is your choice though, I personally don't see a gender issue with any of those colours.

I have a red P&T. Great gender neutral colour, but has really faded.

LooL00 · 11/07/2010 14:50

I have a green P and T and it really shows dirt, partic. suncream that rubs off onto it. I have a black print M and P that looks like new at 5years old.

I've got the Mutsy 4Rider in College Green (we have a girl, but chose green thinking it would be gender neutral if we have another baby) and it's really nice. I've never seen anyone else with a green pram and I get lots of compliments on it. It's a sort of grassy green, possibly a bit of a dirtier shade than the Britax. I would go for the green.

I've a red pushchair, as did a friend. Everyone thought our DDs were boys. Even when the child in question has head to toe in a pink dress with a flowery headband.

My Britax BSmart 3 has just arrived in red, and looks lovely. We don't know what we're having yet, but I think any of the Britax colours would work for either sex. I would have loved the green, but was a little concerned it would show wear & tear faster than the red & black
