39+2 AND I CANNOT GO ON MUCH LONGER :(

Sorry for shouting

I am massive. People keep asking if I'm expecting twins (I'm not). I have stretch marks from hell. But most of all, the weight of this baby has caused dreadfully bad piles that are really getting me down.

They are so painful I can barely walk. I've talked to the doctor and have all the medication available to me (which I've been using since Wednesday). Every time I stand up I wince. It's making me cry several times a day, and I don't know what to do. The thought of going through labour and what state they'll be in at the end of that terrifies me.

I can't go on like this for another (potential) 3 and a half weeks. I've got a 3 year old to run around after, I'm exhausted and so fed up.

I don't really know why I'm telling you all this as there really isn't anything much to be done about it, but it helps to vent And if anyone has any miracle tips for piles, please tell me!

Sadly I think that you already know what you should be doing so cant offer any new advice. You need to get those piles to calm down before the birth so you need to be relaxing at every available moment. Carry on taking the medication from the doctor, put something cold up there, (i did hear that a frozen banana in a condom works well!)and make sure you are eating the right kind of food. I really do feel for you, piles are horrible and so painful.

You poor thing, sounds horrible
Was your ds overdue? Are you really likely to have another 3 weeks? If you're really heavy and at the end of your tether then hopefully that's a sign you're near the end..

Afraid I don't have any miracle tips, I only know the basics of piles. Hope the hardcore meds from the doc work!

Do you know if you're having another ds or a dd?

39+6 here (I must be due the same day as GlastoGoddess!) and feel your pain too. Except I've had opposite comments re the bump - people telling me I don't look big enough, have obv. got ages to go yet, etc. They're probably right, I went nearly 2 weeks over with my daughter until I was induced. I feel massive though and I'm starting to get very uncomfortable.

I've been mentally preparing myself to go overdue pretty much since I found out I was pregnant but it's made naff-all difference! I'm an impatient person, everything's ready for the little one and I can't wait for her to be in my arms. The thought of another 2+ weeks... well. I know it's not a long time in the scheme of things but it seems an eternity to me now.

Hi, I know it's not much use, but I just wanted to say that it is nearly over for you now and that you will be ok. You have managed for months and there are only at most a couple of weeks to go. Try to not look too far ahead and to deal with each day as it comes. I've had piles too and the only thing that helped was trying to avoid being constipated by eating fruit with nearly every meal and snack. When it comes to labour one way or another your body will come good and you will cope. You are full of hormones that will also help you through. Try to keep smiling...SB x

Thanks everyone. I'm having another DS which is lovely DS1 was only 4 days overdue so hopefully this one won't be far off that. Am having a sweep on Tuesday which will hopefully get things moving.

Crikey, a frozen banana?? Even the thought of that is making me clench! Am using suppositories from the freezer to try to numb the area a bit more which helps a little.

Will ask the midwife on Tuesday what they normally do in this sort of situation... wonder if they can try to hold them in during the pushing stage or something. Nice job!

Thanks for the support - hope everyone else's labour goes ok and you aren't too overdue.
