Have posted this twice as wasn't sure where i'd get the right advise....
Can anyone give me a bit of help?... DC's are both out of nappies at night (DD just started all on her own 2 weeks ago) DS has a little washable mat thing under his sheet to protect the mattress, but if he's had an accident i sometimes forget to put it back on after it's been washed, and he's had a couple of accidents actually on the bed... DD1 hasn't got a bed mat thing yet, ordering one ASAP. Anyway- what i'm asking, DS's bed smells a bit of wee, despite stripping it as soon as i know he's wet and letting it air off all that day, and scrubbing the top surface... anyone know anything i can get rid of the smell with without just covering it in febreeze?

You could try sprinkling bicarbonate of soda onto the dry mattress, leave for a while and vacuum off, it might neutralize the smell. I would personally have a full waterproof mattress cover as well as the small pad, I found that my ds used to move around the bed a lot during the night! Also protects the head end if they are sick during the night.
