Peeing at night...help!

DS is 3 next month and up until Thursday has been resistant to potty training. He's decided he wants to use the potty now. He's been really good so far with only a few accidents. I was expecting him to stay in nappies during the night until he got the hang of it (some time down the road) but he woke twice last night needing the potty. I know this is good but I'm struggling to get him to go back to sleep. Any hints on how to reduce the number of nighttime potty visits or how to get him to do it himself? Am I just being lazy/unreasonable?

My DS has just turn 3 and has been dry by day for a while. The night times have been a nightmare, but it is best to keep going while they are keen. My top tip would be to catch him before he wakes himself. We wake DS up (lightly) and carry him to the loo when he is half asleep, then he goes back to sleep with no problems. If we forget then we have the same issue as you, he wakes and won't go back.
The other more obvious one is no drink an hour before bed, DS goes down at 7 and as of 6pm no drink at all. It was hard at first but now he is used to it

DizzyBrummie, I empathise. Mine is 2 yrs 3 months and not only insisting on peeing in potty at night, even though only on potty three weeks now. Can't help thinking it's more to do with having a new angle in order to stay awake as long as possible.

With three year old, I might suggest letting him pee in potty in his room by himself?
