2.4 year old girl was dry now regressed - help

HELP!!!! My 2.4 year old girl was dry from day one when we started training 3 weeks ago. She had been weeing in a potty on and off since 16 months as sees older brother on toilet and copies. I had her in a routine prior to training where she went morning, nap and night and when I went to toilet she came with me and often weed. So of course when I removed nappy she had one accident, didn't like being wet and then started using potty instantly as she knew what to do. She even initiated it saying "wee wee mummy" which to me is more of a ready sign. However she woke up one night at 3 am after seeing a spider in the bath at bathtime and wouldn't go back to sleep for the whole night. She was hysterical. She has woken every night since and although will go back to sleep now is terrified of bees, spiders etc and is extremely clingy to me/won't go to daddy etc. This is an enormous change in her behaviour. Her dryness wasn't affected at first but then my husband and I went away for 2 nights for a planned break and left children with grandparents. She was a bit distressed but knows them very well and was dry all weekend apparently. But when we came back the accidents started immediately and now she constantly wets without even telling me she needs a wee. She hates being put down to bed needing constant reassurance/door open. Poos however are thankgod still in potty and she will go on toilet/potty if part of routine. Do I continue or put back in nappies until she has got over this phase? I don't find it easy to ignore the accidents and I know this is best approach. Her behaviour has also become very defiant and being a feisty child, I was lucky to get her cooperation as far as i did and am worried I'll ruin it by making it a power struggle if things don't improve. I had a similar issue with my son now 5 who took until 4 years 3 months to stop having accidents.sorry for very long mail!!Any help much appreciated

my daughter is the same age and after about 1 month dry she suddenly regressed without the background yours has had but i refused to put her back in nappies immediately to spent about a week regularly putting her on the toilet then gradually leaving it longer and letting her ask it seems to have worked so far.

Am having the same issue - she was completely dry for 3 weeks and would also come and tell me when she needed a wee or a poo. In the last week or so, she has regressed to not telling me and thinking its ok to wee or poo in her pants. The accidents happen mainly when she is in the garden - possibly she does not want to come back in cos she is having too much fun. Unfortunately in my case, accidents are both wees and poos. Am not going back to nappies but its doing my head in
