Nappy off the second they wake up?

How quick are you to get yout DCs nappy off first thing in the morning?
I am generally on my own in the mornings with DS1 (2.6, and 3 weeks in to potty training) and DS2 (4 months and usually BFing first thing).
DS1 tends to wake up crabby and want to get into bed with me and DS2, and drink a cup of milk. This is fine, but as he is in our bed (and moody till his milk has gone down), I'm reluctant to take his nappy off. I then want to get myself showered and DS2 dressed without him peeing on any of the beds.
Thus by the time I do get his nappy off and can be watching him like a hawk / take him out the bedrooms, he's usually quite happily weed in his nappy.
Is this giving mixed messages??

good question, zil. I am potty training dd 2.5 and wondering the same thing.

I would say that yes, it's giving mixed messages. Can you not do a potty next to the bed and empty it when you get up?

I guess I knew that...
I'll put towels under our sheets, have my shower in an evening; and give it a go for a week - maybe in a week he will happily get up and pee, rather then grumily get up and demand a cup of milk in bed with mummy and DS2; and strop when I take his nappy off!
Wish me luck.

Nah, I don't think its mixed messages

I took off DS' when I dressed him, not start yanking him around before he had had his milk

I have a cheapo shower curtain under the sheet on my DS's bed. He has an odd-shaped mattress and I couldn't find a mattress cover the right shape.

We're the same here. About 3 weeks in to nappy free days, but the night time nappy doesn't come off until after breakfast, she refuses until then, and it's usually pretty full. I'm not too worried though. All in good time.

I bought a mat from vertbaudet - it's fab as you can put it anywhere and take it anywhere.
