Lots of potty training accidents, what should I do?

I'm attempting to potty train DD1, 2.7. Yesterday we had a reasonable day, 4 pairs of knickers but plenty of wees in the potty. So far today she has wet five pairs of knickers in 40minutes. She does a little wee on the potty, I changed her knickers and five minutes later she reappeared with wet knickers again, and she did this four times in a row. Is this sort of thing fairly common? She was definitely bothered about the wet knickers but really had only just done a wee on the potty and assured me she had finished. Right now she is asleep in bed (so wearing a nappy) Do I keep trying after nap and if so what's the best course of action? or give up and wait a while.
(We're moving to Germany in June so if I don't do it now I will wait until after the move.)

Maybe try sitting her on the potty every hour for ten mins or so, give her a new little book to look at, or something she will like (blowing bubbles etc.)

Last week I sat DS on the potty in front of the tv. He sat there for a good half hour watching his fave DVD. Filled the potty with a couple of wees, so I did it again the next day. I think it helped teach him when he was going as he could feel it more. Since then he's been in pants during the day and we've had a few accidents every day, but getting less and less, i think he's doing really well. - When he wants to go now he asks for the potty and if he's been busy and has forgotten, he hops if he's left it too late to ask for the potty and we didn't offer soon enough so he's learning he's about to go before he wets himself.

He's 3.2, but has chronic constipation, so we've left it for him to go at his own pace as he's on movicol, which means the poo won't be as easy to do, but I'd say keep at it for now, you'll know within the week if she's getting it or not. good luck.

This was how my DD2 was the first time we had a try at toilet training. After a day I decided it wasn't worth it - mostly from the point of view of my sofa and my carpet

A couple of months later and we had no more than one accident a day from the outset. She was definitely more 'ready' the second time and it has been pretty painless tbh.

If you can, I'd be tempted to leave it until you're in Germany. Lucky you btw.

Thank you ladies, we did carry on this afternoon mainly because dd wanted to wear her big girl pants and I had regained my sense of humour after it failed me this morning, We had more of the same but mainly because she doesn't seem to be aware of the need to go until she's actually started weeing, I will persevere for a few more days and see how it goes. She can manage to get her special seat put it on the loo and use it all by herself at bath time so I'm hoping she'll work out that she's supposed to do that all day. Here's hoping!
Everyone keeps telling me that the summers are much better in Germany than here so I'm looking forward to the bbq summer I was promised last year The actual moving house is a bit of a pain though.
