hi
DC1 is nearly 3 and potty trained for 4 months and doing well.
i only have one potty and very keen to start him on the loo. he's not keen on the travel seat i have so bought a padded seat with his fave character on it.

do i just go cold turkey with it and say "the potty's broken" ? or keep it for upstairs and potty for downstairs?

my feeling is that if the potty's visible he won't try the seat?
any words of wisdom?
TIA.

We bought a stool for my dd to climb on (also with a fave character on it) so she could reach the toilet seat properly. This helped make the transition at Casa 2Cats.

We tried for ages with the persuasion route -but DS just refused.

At first he was afraid of the toilet, then he got over that but just preferred to do it in potty.

At that point I just hid the potty and said the binmen took it away. He would have to use the toilet.

He did, with no problem and I wish I had done it about 3 months sooner!

we used this www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0987460/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CNursery%7C14417537/c_2/3%7 Ccat_15701330%7CFeeding+and+bathing%7C14417596.htm really easy to use - folds flat when not in use. It was so easy to use that by the time the children were 3 they could do it themselves. Having the step and the handles combined seem to make them much more secure using the toilet. It also didnt slip as much as some of the lay on ones.
