Potty peer pressure

I'm interested to know if anyone out there feels under pressure to get their DC's potty trained ? (I have 2 DD's, 2.3 and 1.2). DD1 is always happy to sit on her potty that we installed in the bathroom a couple of months ago so i thought i would have a go at potty training although in my heart thought she wasnt ready, and i was right ! But, the thing is, i am in a group of 4 mums who all have DC's aged within 6 weeks of each other, who are all now in the process of trying and having more success, and i'm facing a barrage of texts as to how well they are doing and asking me how my DD is doing!!!! Does anyone face this kind of pressure, and is 2.3 relatively young to potty train anyway ?(particularly with having a 1.2 to deal with as well !?) Its making me feel like a failing mother !

Ignore them! My DS's friends had all got potty training done well before their 3rd birthdays. I tried a few months ago and it was a disaster, constant wee, like every 15 mins and more hassle than it was worth.

We started potty training (again) when he was 3.2 it's gone far more smoothly this time and 2 months later we've more or less done it.

They get there in the end . And don't do it in the winter like I did as the washing really piles up!

DD is 2.11 and seems quite ahead with speech and things. But potty training is a disaster so far.

She knows what the potty is for, can say if she has had a wee or a poo.

But I have tried putting her on the potty every hour, she does nothing then 10 mins later wees all over the floor.

I am feeling the pressure too Esp from preschool as she is going every day after easter, they sent her home in knickers on Monday but she got upset when she wee'd all down her trouser legs and into socks and shoes.

I am leaving it for now, but encouring a try on the potty when I can - I honestly think she does not feel/recognise when she needs to go, until it is already on the way out

Thats the same with me moaningminnie (love the name - i call DD1 that when she's grumpy!), when i tried her she was happy to sit on the potty to read for 15 mins but would then walk off and wee ! I dont think she recognises the need either. I just cant deal with the comments {blush}

I suspect its a physiological thing and we won't get far until they can recognise they need to wee.

I think we just have to wait. I have 2 in cloth nappies and I am quite looking forward to less washing, but not if it will mean months of extra clothes to wash instead
