How do you get them out of pull ups at night?

DD is almost 4 and has been dry during the day for year and a half. She has been wearing pull ups at night for about a year and has announced she doesn't want to wear them anymore. We went for it but the first three nights she wet the bed - how long do we perservere or should we try lifting? Any ideas?

we made sure our ds went to the toilet before he went to bed (at about 7pm) then when we went to bed at 10pm i would take him to the toilet (most nights he was still have asleep) and i usually get up at about 3pm so i would take him then and then he would be up at 7am. We did this for a month or so and then we dropped the 3amish routine. then the 10pm. It did take a couple of months and a few wet beds but eventually he started getting up when he had wet the bed and then he started going on his own if he needed to. Now he sleeps right through but it took about six months before we had a dry night and then for another six months every time he got a cold we would have a couple of nights where he wet the bed.

It is a hormonal thing and you can't train them to be dry at night in the same way as you can in the day

DS has been dry in the day for a year but wakes up with a wet nappy every morning

when he has 3 dry nappies in a row, then i will start to leave them off

it isn't considered an issue until a child is 7 or 8 i think

Had her pull-ups been dry in the morning? I ask as my DD is 4 soon too. She'd been wearing her night-time pants for about a year and they'd been dry for about 6 months when she announced she didn't want to wear them. She pretty good now (has had a couple of accidents) but I have to ensure she has her night-time wee just before bed time or she's likely to have an accident.

Also as an aside, my friend started giving her children just water after about 3pm. Juice and milk seemed to cause her 4yo twins to wet the bed.

I didn't bother trying, to be honest. Both DSs wore them till they were 5. We stopped when they'd had four or five dry nights in a row. DS1 only ever had one or two accidents. DS2 had maybe one or two a month for a few months. All in all, pretty painless and hassle-free for all concerned.

THanks for the advice. She had some dry pull-ups gybegirl, and often they were very light i.e. maybe one wee in them. Will def give the no juice and milk rule a go. Not sure whether to lift - this will obviously help us to get decent nights sleep (was up at 3am changing her and her bed last night) but don't know if it will help her in the long run.
