We started potty training ds when he was around 2.5 and he took to it very well. By 3 he was consistently dry and not having accidents. Great. Now, he's 4 and while he doesn't completely wet himself, he always seems to dribble and his pants and trousers smell terrible by the end of the day. I do know that he's a lazy wee-er, and he'll always leave it until the last minute to go. I often see him doing his 'wee dance' and have to badger him to go to the toilet, so it may be that he's just leaving it too long. I'm worried about it because he'll be starting school in September and I'm terrified of him being 'the boy who smells of wee'.
Can anyone tell me if it's common and something that will correct itself? Should I be encouraging him to go to the toilet more frequently? Or should I just leave him to go when he needs to go and make sure that he does?
If it's relevant, he's not dry at night yet. Occasionally he has a dry night but usually his pull-up is quite full in the morning.
Thanks in advance
