Hi, dniece turns 4 this month and although long since dry by day, still needs a nappy at night. If this in the normal range of behaviour? Apparently the nappy is soaking every morning.

Words of wisdom much appreciated!

Totally normal. I know there are some children in DS's year 1 class (5 and 6 year olds) who still have nappies at night.

I think around 7 might be a time when you would seek extra help but it is fine now.

no it's completely normal

if you were to go to the GP, they'd refuse to do anything until the child is 7 at the earliest. This is because it's so common. Even at 7 I think it's something like 1 in 10 still not dry at night.

You might not think it's that many though as few parents talk about it at the school gates!

Thanks, that's very reassuring!

DD is 4.5 and for the first time ever we have had 2 dry nappies in the morning....not consecutive days, but 2 in the last 6 days.

completely normal!!

Totally normal - my DS is 5.4 now and it's only in about the last 3/4 months that we've been doing without night nappies - and still get a wed bed every two or three weeks.
