Has anyone else got a DC starting school next september and not toilet trained?

I'm starting to worry as dd2 is showing no signs of being ready to toilet train.

Dd2 has Autism but will be going to MS school next september, i feel that she needs to be dry before starting school, i don't want her being bullied for being in nappies (as well as having poor speech and sensory issues).

DD2 will change her own nappy when wet, she seems to know when she has been but doesn't seem to know when she is about to go IYKWIM. She will sit on the toilet but only for a few seconds before getting upset.

I am trying to relax about it and wait until she is ready but deep down i am panicking that she will be starting school in nappies .

Has anyone else got a a almost 4 year old in nappies?

Thanks Riven, i keep trying to tell myself that, i know the school can not refuse entry if she is not dry but i just feel she's done so well overcoming speech problems and some of her sensory issues it would be great if she could be toilet trained too and then she will find it easier to fit in at school (sounds a bit sad).

We had the same problem with dd1 (toilet phobia), she has Aspergers, she's only just started using the big toilet (age 5.10). Luckily neither of the dd's will poo when not at home (they take after me) so i'm not to bothered about poo training her (i'm happy for her to use a nappy for poo) but it would be great if she could wee on the toilet.

contact the school in advance ands ask to meet and discuss their Intimate Care Policy. That may reassure you, and give you an idea of what to aim for by Sep.

If they don't have an ICP, rearrange to meet after Feb half term and view it (gives them time to draft one)
