Any portable potty alternative to the Potette?

My 3 year old DD is going well on the potty and toilet at home/playgroup but is struggling when we're out. She refuses to use the Potette saying it's not comfortable (completely understand as it is so low to the ground and occasionally collapses!) Our local park doesn't have toilets near the playground and it's becoming a real issue - she wets herself every time we go.

Has anyone found an alternative portable potty to the Potette?

We have one like this which is pretty good. You do have to take it home and wash it out though.

Cheap potty from the M..son Supermarket (99p) and nappysacks for the solid end results. I've one permanently in the car don't know if if would squash in to buggy basket tho'.

When DD was at that in between zone of not using toilet and only going on potty, I would carry a potty in a gym bag.

Guess I was lucky that she never did a poo in one when we were out travelling!

re:collapsing, do you make sure its clicked in when in potty mode? i have found it pretty stable when in right, but yes if not clicked in it can collapse easily

We've got a Potette plus and i have to say it's never collapsed when the legs are clicked in place properly. Have any of the clip bits broken or anything, making it structurally unstable? As to the comfort element, no suggestions there though, sorry.

I think I'm just a bit inept with clicking the legs in place - she gives around a 20 second warning so I'm usually scrabbling around for somewhere suitable in the corner of a crowded playground! I might have to start lugging the proper potty around (or stay at home for the next 3 months)

This might seem a bit obvious, but why not set up the potette as soon as you get to the park, so you are unhurried and it's ready as soon as it's needed? If she still won't use it why don't you ask her what she would like to use instead. And then get her to carry it herself to the playground.

I can understand why she is put off by the potette collapsing though!

I actually found it easier than it sounds to carry an ordinary (basic) potty around in one of those jute shopping bags.

DD wasn't keen on the potette either (b/c of a collapsing incident!) until a friend with one came to stay recently. Now I have to dissuade her from using it in the house.

yeah having issues with potette, dd has been great with potty training all last week but is horrified by the look of it and keeps saying it will hurt her bottom etc. Will only use cushy toilet seats and at home have a cushy potty for her. But need to get work it out as will have to go on school run with nannyshare v soon which involves a walk there and back, so have managed to get her to sit her on it once with a travel cushy toilet seat over it! But timing is an issue....

I got the Mothercare's own travel potty. £6 cheaper than the POotette, but I've yet to tey it!
