My DD is 3 end of July we've been potty training since bank holiday weekend (Friday ) and she has done amazing with it, as far as her wees are concerned she'll independently take herself to the potty or ask for it if we are out, but when it comes to her poos she just goes in her pants then tells me she's done a poo. If I can see she's doing a poo I have tried getting her to the potty and sitting her on it but she gets really upset and fights it , when I clean her up I have emptied the poo from her underwear into the potty and explained that's where poo goes and she needs to poo in the potty next time ( obviously I've used age appropriate language etc) I've tried promising a chocolate button if she does a poo in the potty but she still fights it ,with my others I would either get them to sit on the potty when I could see they were about to do a poo or as in the case of my 4 year old the promise of chocolate buttons worked but with DD it's not working as she's not interested in bribes 😂 .
I had thought about trying her on the toilet but I'm not sure if she will fight that to .
Any tips to get her pooing in the potty will be greatly appreciated .
thanks for taking the time to read .

Bribery was the only way with our ds, the dds were all easy and happy to use it straight away. His twin sister was a good 6-8 weeks before him. He was promised any toy he wanted from the small section in sainsburys. He did the smallest poo ever and it was celebrated like he had won the lottery. No bother after that.

Bribery! It cost us a small fortune in teddies but it was the only thing that convinced DD to poo in the potty.

Make the clean up a big hassle for them, oh we have to stop what we're doing, go to the bathroom, take off the dirty clothes, clean up.... a lot quicker to poo in the potty. Get them involved in the clean up so its not the easy option.
Make them loose too so they can't easily hold on, plenty of fibre.

What are her stools like on the Bristol Stool Chart guide? Any chance she’s constipated? At home I’d have her in a skirt or dress with no knickers on and out and about I’d have her in joggers with no knickers. See if that helps. The feeling of cloth against their bottom gives the feeling of a nappy.

Google the NHS resource called “Poo goes to Pooland.” There is a video and printed resources.

Also gave a look at the ERIC charity website.

You could buy some pants with her favourite character on eg pepper pig or frozen - whatever she likes and say that it would be a shame if these nice pants got poo on them. I’ve used that trick and got a little basket and put a selection of nice pants in there for her to choose perhaps?

Mine hated the potty and never really used it. We got one of those little seats you put on the toilet seat and a step

She doesn't seem to be constipated, her pants are quite loose as I bought them a bit bigger for her to have ease of pulling them up and down, she's doing so well with her pees it's just her poos.

I tried bribing her with the promise of chocolate buttons at first as she doesn't get them very often , she said no I tried with crisps as she can never resist crisps and she said no I don't want crisps so I'm not really sure what else I can bribe her with as I'm worried if I try with toys it'll be harder to stop when she's cracked it .

Yes this is exactly what I did with my other kids went overboard with the praise when they did a poo In the potty I did a potty dance and went really ott even rang daddy at work for them to tell him and he then went ott on the phone what his boss must've thought mind I don't know he must've thought dh had lost the plot 😂 it's getting her onto the potty to do it is the problem.

I do actually have a toilet seat with a step it is my 4 year olds I could try her on it but I'm not sure if she'll be keen on it worth a shot though.

The problem with pooing in a potty is how it can still touch their bum. Both my kids freaked out about it, although it never occurred to either of them to tell me what the problem was!

A toilet seat with steps and a handrail and asking them what reward they felt would help worked for mine. Good luck.
