Help with potty training

Would appreciate some advice about potty training!
DD is 2.5, and extremely stubborn. We’ve had a few failed potty training attempts - tried using the oh crap method but had to stop because she ended up just flat-out refusing to sit on it. We keep taking breaks for a few weeks/months. We are trying again this week and it just seems to be going the same way. She can wee on the potty and has done several times, and has a good understanding about the process from watching us/reading books/talking about it, but we just can’t seem to get it to ‚click‘.
We‘ve tried no clothes at all and the training pants, but have just had loads of accidents! Bribing doesn’t seem to work - you give her one sticker and she’ll just keep demanding more (we don’t give in, it’s just very tiresome!)
My question is: is this normal? Do I stop again and try later? At what point is it considered too late? I feel like lots of her friends have already got it!
Thanks in advance!

is she food orientated? Stickers didn't work for us but chocolate buttons did, one for a wee, 2 for a poo. If she had an accident I didn't over react just got her to help me get her changed but no chocolate button even if she finished it in the potty. When she did go on the potty I made a really big deal over it and then she got a chocolate.
it definitely wasn't easy, DD is also extremely stubborn, and she had a lot of accidents for the first two days, I was tearing my hair out with the washing, then it just seemed to click.

We had the same stubborn attitude around potty training when she was 2.5. About a month later, I bought loads of pink, flowery, heart-print knickers (her favourite colour and pattern). As soon as we got home, I took the nappy off, and on days we stayed at home she didn’t wear a nappy at all.
We agreed that she would let us know when she needed a wee or poo, and she could decide whether she wanted a nappy or the potty. Whenever she chose the potty, she could then choose a reward (stickers, blowing bubbles, a piece of biscuit, etc.). About 95% of the time, she chose the potty.
Now we’re 4 weeks in and she’s actually walking to nursery without a nappy. The nursery only puts one on for naps (which rarely happen on nursery days), and we’re planning to stop using nappies completely next month. We can’t do it earlier as we’re travelling abroad.
She’s stubborn, but even more afraid of ruining her lovely knickers 😂
(I know it’s not the perfect solution, but I have a 8 months little one and they need my attention too)
