Advice for three year old

My daughter turns three just before Christmas and is showing absolutely no signs of being ready to potty train other than being interested in the toilet and she likes to pretend her toys go on the potty. She’s in pull ups and I know they keep her so dry she doesn’t realise she’s weed and this is holding her back. She is ADAMANT she wants to continue wearing nappies but she is literally the only child in her nursery class still in nappies and she’s one of the oldest. She has incredible communication skills and can easily follow instructions. After the new guidance issued about potty training before age 2.5 I am interested in getting her potty trained ASAP. I have read the oh crap method and tbh I’m not a fan because she’s very derogatory about parents who haven’t trained their kids early enough and we have brand new carpets in the house so I can’t have her running around the house with no nappy on. We have a loooong time to wait until it’s warm enough to have her outside with no nappy! I did try it but she had a full on tantrum and got so distressed she was sick. I know she’s not ready but I honestly feel she never will be while she’s still in pull ups. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

-Pants under the pull ups
-Set a timer every 15 minutes and get her to sit on the toilet/potty
-Tape puppy pads to the floor

I potty trained my daughter age 2yrs 9mnths. I read and followed the oh crap method. She was potty trained in 3 days.

I would set a date and just take the nappies away and dont go back. Tell her clearly that the nappies are going and she needs to use potty/toilet now. I made up a nappy fairy who brought her some pants and fruitshoot and from that day on, the nappies were gone.

I think it's easier when they understand that the nappies aren't an option anymore. Also, I think the sensation of wet pants helps to motivate them to use the toilet.

Getting her out of nappies is more important than the odd accident on the carpet. If you do the Oh Crap method correctly you'll only have a slight dribble on the floor anyway because you'll be paying attention and be able to reach her and the potty at the same time and put her straight on. And certainly no poo. Don't make excuses and just go for it. No more nappies.
