Waking wet in middle of night

We are a week into potty training with our toddler, she’s 2yrs and 4months. Followed her lead in regards to starting the training as she told us she wanted to use the potty. She’s doing very well in the day, the odd accident, wears a pull up for naps but has been dry last few days. Pull up at night and is wet every morning so definitely not ready to go without but last night she woke at 4.30am saying she had done and weewee and had to be changed, obviously we changed her as would hate for her to be uncomfortable and it’s great that she wants to be dry, luckily she quickly went back to sleep. I’m really anxious this is going to become a regular thing while we wait for her to be ready for night training which obviously could take a long time. Anyone have any experience of this or any advice?

We had this when we first started potty training but it only lasted a couple of weeks until we stopped getting wake ups because of peeing

Night dryness is hormonal and you can’t train it. She may well be dry at night in the few months after day training but most likely it will be months /years before that happens. Anything up to the age of 7 is considered ‘normal’ I believe. My daughter toilet trained at 2y6m and she’s only started to become dry at night at nearly 5.

eta. Oh sorry I see you’re meaning about her waking in the night to be changed, sorry I’m half asleep! I had this with both my children but it stopped after a short time.

We went through a phase of waking and carrying both our DCs to the toilet before bed about 10 or 11pm. Seemed to do the trick, first couple of times there was a small bit of protest but soon it became a thing they seemed to like and expect albeit half asleep. It's a bit of a chore but better than waking up at 4am...we deduced other time that the wetting was happening in that 3am to 5am window. Also brolly sheets are really helpful and super absorbent for a bit of peace of mind for the mattress.

This is a good sign!

One of mine was dry day and night before the age of three- literally a couple of weeks after getting it during the day.

The other one was dry in the day at 2 but still in DryNites at 9.

They’re all different.
