Difference between Huggies Night Pull-Ups and Dry Nites?

That’s it really! Wondering what the difference is? I need a night nappy that’s fully absorbent (toddler not ready for night-training) but also easy for him to pull up and down himself for the morning.

Marketing. And difference in sizing. Pull ups are billed as training pants for potty training toddlers/preschoolers and I think stop at age 4. Dry nights are billed as PJ pants and go up to teen sizes so aiming at older kids who are wetting beyond the typical age to be dry at night. But there is some cross over in sizing and if you have an average sized 3YO you could likely use either and not notice a difference. Or alternatively just buy any brand of nappy pant in a size 6 because they’re exactly the same thing without all the fancy marketing.

Thanks @JellyAnd

thing with the “normal” nappy pants is that they’re much more difficult for him to pull up/down whereas the other ones seem looser

Different brands will fit different DC differently. If the huggies pull ups are the best fit for him because he can be more independent with them and you don’t mind the extra spend then by all means buy those! Whatever works for you. They just are much of a much when it comes to the primary purpose which is preventing night time leaks.

I guess that’s my question though! Which is the best for a loose fit but high absorbency? The “proper” nappy pants absorb as much as a normal normal. The daytime “training pull-ups” don’t absorb much at all.

im just trying to avoid buying a pack of nighttime training pull-ups and dry nites to find out!

Ive used both and honestly just use nappy pants in the larger sizes. Just as absorbent, more stretchy around the waist (I found some PJ pants more like a swim nappy in terms of waistband?) - and nappy pants are cheaper 😁

Gotcha- the daytime trainers are a totally different product. They are specifically designed to not hold much and to let DC feel when they’ve done a wee and to be used to catch the odd potty training accidents.

Pull up night time pants, dry nights PJ pants and basic nappy pants are the ones that are much of much and therefore all just about equal in terms of absorbency. How they specifically fit on your DC isn’t something that someone can tell you though so perhaps just best to buy a small pack and see? Worst case scenario is you have to help DC in the morning getting them on/off, which whilst yes it’s good for them to be independent where they can, it isn’t the worst thing presuming we’re talking toddler/preschooler age and not an older DC!

Ok maybe I’ll try a different brand then as the size 6 in our brand he can’t get off himself… or a size up to a 7 in a different brand…

Ahhh thanks @JellyAnd, was beginning to think I’d never find out! So nighttime ones should be fairly loose but still absorbent… I’ll just let him pick which ones he likes the look of best then

Pull-Ups are “aspirational”.

They are for the child who is trying to be dry at night.

DryNites are there to mitigate something that you know is inevitable (ie that they will almost certainly wet themselves).

That seems to be the marketing anyway… 🤣

Realise this is a slightly old thread, but in my experience, they’re equally absorbent but my DS can take the drynites off himself much easier than the pull up pants, as the dry nites have a soft stretchy material on the edges
