I feel totally in the dark about what's right and wrong with potty training - all advice seems conflicting.

My DD (2.3 Years) started potty training 2 days ago, she's doing really well (i think) in that she only had 2 accidents on day 2 and has managed to poop in the potty no issues.

However, she can only seem to go about 30 minutes MAX between wee's and I just feel like I'm basically going to be house bound from now on?! I can barely get anywhere in the car in 20-30 minutes - how do i manage this at soft play for example?

Will her bladder resilience grow as she gets older? I don't think its that she's not ready, she's took to it like a duck on water - but her bladder is tiny.

I do have a Carry potty that we can use, but what happens in the middle of a shopping centre, surely I can't just let her squat and poop Infront of everyone?!

PS - I am a wild over thinker and things like this get me stressed.

Our dd could go longer between wees (about an hour at the start of potty training - we started training a similar age) but We still found quite quickly her bladder built up and could go longer. Your first week or 2 might be a bit tricky but she will gradually go longer between wees

an hour would be something! But thank you for replying - that is reassuring

We're in the same boat, day 1 she couldn't manage 10 minutes without seeing and by day 3 now we're managing max 30 mins. But we have been going out. We went to a toddler group (where no one cares if you're potty training) and food shopping (there was a loo) and today we're with family all day so we don't feel too trapped in the house, we've just been trying to think of family-friendly things to do.

Thank you for this - My step mum of 7 Grandchildren (3 in which she potty trained recently) advised using pull ups in the earlier days for longer trips and not calling them nappies, but big girl pants. So we're going to try that today. But at home and indoors she will be nappy free.

I still am a bit hesitant about this as i don't want her going back in training but she is still young to be fair, and if it gives us a bit of life then i wont say no!

She sounds like she is doing great!!!!!

When i was training i was "pushing" water and juice to get the wees.
Are you doing that? If so id more to demand led.
On going out my carry potty is your friend for a month or two.

We started going out on day 4 and went to a cafe with a toilet 15mins away and left the house immediately after a wee.

It builds surprisingly quickly, youll have a few accidents and before you know it, its not an issue.
i wouldnt worry too much

Thank you!

Not forcing water/fluids no but she is a big drinker. We went an hour this morning between wee's so that's something!
We have a carry potty yes.

I'm such a stress head, plus near Christmas maybe wasn't my best idea but its the most time off i'm going to have for awhile!
