Dry at night

My little boy is nearly 4 and still in pull ups overnight, and we don’t seem to be even close to being dry.

I know it’s hormonal but just wondering when this typically happens.

Not sure but I have a just turned 4 year old also in pull ups and no sign of being dry. Also interested in answers…

I have a 4yo and a 6yo the same. Both boys. Both potty trained early and well. It's just overnight that is the problem and it's so hard to know what to do. We've tried alarms which worked for the 6yo then he has regressed, I do untold amounts of laundry. I have a call with the GP on Monday as I'm also looking for answers!

I have three DC. All three were dry in the day at age 2, but night time dryness happened at ages 2, 3 and 6. So it varies!

@youhavetofindaway my boy is 5 and half and has only just stopped wearing pull ups to bed. When he turned 5 we started to talk about waking up for a wee in the night and asking him if he had a dry night in his pull up. After a while he had dry nights for 2 weeks straight and then asked for pants to bed.
Some other parents at the school have said their children are still in pull ups. So really just depends on when the child is ready.

You will notice when that starts, as the pull ups stay dry for more nights in a row.

Between 5 and 7 I think is the average. My youngest (6) is still bed wetting.

DD just turned 5 and we are still at that stage. She was potty trained at just turned 2.

If it helps, my GP told us it is hormonal and not to worry for a while yet.

I think the advice is not to worry until they're at least 7. My DGD was still in pull ups when she turned 7 but then suddenly dry at night a couple of months later and has never wet the bed since.

Same situation here with an almost 4yo DS @youhavetofindaway. Completely dry during the day since he was about 2y 10m.

I have friends with DSs almost 5 and 6 who are the same. I checked with DSs health visitor when she was round the other week and she said it’s completely normal and we have years before it becomes something to worry about.

My DS was 5 before he was dry at night after being dry in the day since he was 2

DN was 7, it really varies by child and is definitely nothing to worry about at 4
