I have 4 year old little girl who has accidents most days. Sometimes it's a little wee dribble sometimes more.
Some times it's skid marks sometimes it's a full chunk of poo.
It's been like this for two years, I've tried reward charts, edible treats, alarms, vibrating watches, I've spoken to the health visitor, and the doctor.
I'm still not seeing improvement. She's had 4 changes of pants today.
She's a happy healthy little girl who eats well and is full of life I have no other behavioural concerns.
When I ask her if she needs a wee she says no and I have to really push to her her to try and inevitably after the confrontation /persuasion to get her to try she will often do a wee despite being adamant she didn't need one.
If I didn't remind her to go im pretty sure she wouldn't go and try until she had an accident.
I think she is ignoring the feeling because she's a busy little bee that loves playing.
I'm really struggling and want to do everything I can to support her, are these private consultant/experts worth it can anyone share experiences?
Prices online are about £250 for a consultation.
Any advice appreciated.

Before parting with your money, I would try getting advice from Eric - eric.org.uk/.

Within my local area, there is a health visitor who specialises in difficulties arising from toilet training, so maybe see I
If you have the same.

Eric website…..referral to continence nurse ( from age 4 in my area)….contact HV and ask for one of the community nursery nurses to do a potty training support visit …..save your dosh

there is also a community toilet training drop in clinic once a week in my area….so worth an ask

Have you done bare bum, picking her up and sitting on a potty when she is mid wee?

Hi sweetpea

I was just wondering if you managed to get any help with this? I am going through the same struggles with my nearly 5 year old and I’m getting so worn down with it all. 3 years we’ve been trying, no other worries in terms of behaviour or development. I have tried everything 😩 xx

Well, Eric were fantastic for starters. I had a good 45 min chat with them and they changed my way of thinking and highlighted some things I'd been doing that probably were not helping!

I took her to the Drs to get laxatives ( who knew being constipated could cause wee accidents) anyways I didn't need to give her laxatives as over the summer term she just got better, I'm not sure if the Drs made her sit up and listen a bit.

We do sometimes have accidents if someone doesn't remind her to go, we are not out of the woods yet but it's much better.

I remember Eric saying blackcurrent can irritate the bowel in some children. I accidentally bought blackcurrant again recently and the wee accidents came back. Could be a coincidence.

Good luck!
