I don't know what to do anymore.
My toddler (2.5) has been completely out of nappies for 5 months now day and night. I would say she's maybe had a handful of pee accidents in the last 4 months max and she's doing amazing.
However, we just don't make any progress with number 2s. She does have pretty soft poo most of the time or the other end of the scale being quite constipated but she starts them all in the pants and then goes to the toilet but usually nothing else comes. She does sit for a while but even though she tries, nothing else happens. She change her, off she goes and half an hour later the next small bit started again and the cycle continues 3-4 times before it's all out. Every day.
We've handled it positively, encouraging her, buying new pants that were special and "didn't like poop in them", reward, distraction on the toilet to see if we just sit longer something else happens, offer her a pull-up happy (same thing happens and she wants to go to the loo). She seems to be stuck on having to poop while standing with an arched back holding on to the table but just can't seem to do it sitting down. I don't know what else to do. It's becoming quite stressful now and she seems to become conscious of it too (sometimes hiding to do it which does tell me she has some control).
Nursery are suggesting a reward chart but that's not helped so far either.
Any other ideas? I've run out!

Look on the eric website.
Get her to sit with her feet up on a ‘magic step’ (the kind they stand on to wash their hands) while having a poo. Take her to try for a poo 20 mins after every meal.
Go to the GP as it sounds like she may have constipation with over flow.

Sorry not much help but learning to poo and wee are obviously very different processes to learn so it isn't unusual that they are not acquired at the same time. She is still quite young and I would relax a bit. It will click.

Read poo goes to poo land.

Wait. Don't rush. Don't make a fuss. One day it will happen I promise

Thanks all. Very helpful. I'll have a look at those.
She's doing very well and I'm very proud of her. I think the GP might not be a bad shout, the nursery has softly suggested that too but I wasn't too sure what they'd be able to do as it doesn't feel like she's unwell or ill and I didn't want to take up an appointment. But then she does struggle and sometimes strain a bit so maybe it's worth getting checked out.
