Potty training at Nursery Vs Home

Hi all,
My little girl will be 3 in March and so far she has done amazing with potty training, she is really good when inside our home and family members' homes, and has had a few accidents when out in busy places which are expected.

However, she doesn't talk at nursery and hasn't since she started in April last year, they say she is opening up now and saying 2/3 words to them which is good she only attends 2 days a week 8-1 now my issue is I don't think she will communicate with them to let them know she needs a wee which worries me, they are out most of the time wearing lots of layers as its a forest nursery and I'm worried she will be left wet when outside.

My partner says she is doing fine in nappies for nursery and not when with us, it doesn't seem to be confusing her she has been doing this for 2 weeks so far.

Also, when she's busy in soft play I will ask her if she needs a wee every 30 minutes and most of the time she shouts and says no and doesn't want to come to the toilet/sit on her potty then she has an accident 5 mins later. (I think it's because she doesn't want to miss out).

My question is should I just carry on doing what we are doing building her confidence with us when out in busy places etc and wait until she opens up more at nursery before introducing no nappies?

Any advice will be much appreciated, sorry for the long explanation :)

I would switch to knickers. DS is actually better at nursery than at home and I think it’s because their routine is more fixed.

I would say knickers as well. Nursery are brilliant and it must be confusing swapping between the two

It's generally not a good idea to be switching between nappies and knickers.

I'm sure nursery can take her for a wee at 8am/10am/12pm whether she asks or not, which should be plenty of opportunities.

My DD is quiet (at nursery only!) and struggled with this when we tried potty training aged 2.5. She moved to the preschool room aged 3 and they have a door bell to use the toilet which has worked perfectly for her. I wonder if there is a way she could make a different kind of noise for them? I'm sure there are other quiet kids at her nursery so they might be open to a suggestion that helps others too?

Thanks for all the advice will talk to her nursery and make a plan, I just don't want her to take a massive set back if she keeps having accidents at nursery etc

You can’t put her in nappies it’s too confusing. Talk to the staff and agree they will take her every hour.
