When to potty train two toddlers, eleven months age gap

My third and fourth DC are eleven months apart. Older one is coming up two, youngest coming up one. Both boys, other children girls so training boys is a first for me also. Is it worth trying to train one then the other or let older one wait till maybe two and a half and train both together when the youngest is eighteen months? Also any suggestions on training boys? Is it all that different to girls?

I think 18 months a bit young for most boys. Do the elder one now

2 at once sounds horrific! Boys can be later to produce the hormone they need to stay dry at night, there’s no proven difference with regular daytime potty training though. I actually think they are easier to train I think as they tend go for the classic crotch grab when they need to go whereas girl signs often aren’t as obvious 🤣 I still think you need basic signs of readiness (that you’re probably already aware of as these are DC3 and 4) that an 18 month old is highly unlikely to have. Nor would I wait with the older one as leave it too late and they get stubborn!! 2-2.5 is generally the ideal window so I might be tempted to try with the older one this summer and see how you get on. Youngest next summer.

I would do the oldest one now and the younger next Summer too. My sister trained all her boys at just under 2. Oh Crap Potty Training is great. A friend trained her 17 month old son using that book.

I’d do them both at once
