Potty training and being outside

My daughter just turned two and I have just potted trained her. We are going abroad next week and I am a bit stressed on how to use public toilets when we are out, mainly because of hygiene. I can think of 2 choices for this - I can either get a travel potty and lug it around everywhere or I could get disposable seat covers and buy a folding seat that I put over the cover.

can anyone give me advice on what they do and use please?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by a folding cover. And why would you need one if you have disposable covers?

Depending on where you are going and how far you are ever likely to be from loos, I'd be tempted to get a travel potty.

We haven't used ours as much as expected (DS was older when trained and good at telling us in advance when he needs to go) but it's certainly easy to carry around.

When we went abroad we honestly went back to pull ups, and DD didn't regress.

I had a travel potty, we didn't use it much but it was great for certain situations

Just mentioned it on another thread but we have a potette plus; you get bags so it can be used as a standard travel potty plus it folds out so you can put it on the toilet.

It’s not very bulky so easy to carry

I got a folding seat and never used it 🤷🏻‍♀️ just lined the toilet with plenty of paper and held onto my daughters when they were little.

I've never had much success with the folding seat things - they never feel particularly stable or secure and children don't like to use them.
I tend to just hold them on the normal loo seat, I don't use disposable covers (but I wouldn't use them for myself either).

NuffSaidSam · 14/09/2022 13:23

Just hold them on the normal loo and wash their hands afterwards.

Unless where you're going is likely to be horrendously disgusting, in which case take a travel potty.

Hold them on the usual loo seat and if it is too disgusting hold them above it.I think you are over complicating things.
