Day 3 of potty training my daughter

Hi so my daughter has just turned 3 and I need to get her potty trained before January as she is starting a childcare setting.
She has wee'd a few times after sitting for a while with help and done 4 poo's the one this morning she said " mumma I have a poo in my tummy coming out"
Then she did it on the potty.
I can see she is ready but the whole thing is just making me anxious as I'm a stay at home mum and don't like staying in all the time but I don't know how to manage it going out.
She keeps having wee accidents in the day and hasn't yet stopped what she's doing to go and have a wee.
I also have a 5 month old so it's abit if a handful at time.
Just looking for some reassurance or tips

She's doing great by the sounds of it! We're retraining our 3.5 year old now as we didn't crack it properly the first time so my tip is be consistent and stick at it now to save yourself a faff in the future.

It took us forever to sort the poo situation out so you're doing incredibly well to have success on this front just a few days in. Stick at it!

I stayed in for most of a week to get it done. I had to consciously manage my anxiety about it too- it is hard. I think being naked helps too, if you can hear your house enough to manage it. Definitely no pull ups.
Sounds like she’s really getting the idea, so well done, and keep going!

I found chocolate buttons helped with some of my children, as rewards.

Thank you @Snipples and @Greenmarmalade

I'm sure my feelings are normal today she's had two wee accidents already and it's making me feel like she will never get it!

How long do you think it takes for them to realise they need a wee and then hold it until they get to the potty. I think she understands the feeling of a poo much more than wee.

She sound like she's up for the challenge. Naked at home or just knickers and keep asking. I found mine got distracted playing and then forgot to think about needing a wee.
Out and about I'd suggest a potette - they're collapsible potties that also work on a loo seat to make it smaller for little bottoms.
I'd echo a sticker and chocolate button chart!

Sounds like you're doing brilliantly already Smile. The best bit of advice I was given was not to go back - once you start (assuming you've taken their lead on readiness as best as possible) then just go with it & don't use nappies again. When we started we chose a long weekend at home with nothing planned & then we had a travel potty that we carted around everywhere so weren't caught out. I tried not to keep asking if they needed the toilet & the travel potty was reassurance for me as much as them. Then we just went for it & headed out. Encouraged them to go for a Wee before we left the house & had a towel in the car seat just incase, plenty of spare clothes. With my first I started easy & went to a toddler group where I knew a toilet was nearby but you could choose an outdoor walk or something & after a few days the stress (my stress, not theirs!) wore off.

She seems to be doing really well, just nervous about when is right time to go out. We have been in for 5 days so far. She has got the hang of the poo's now just got to get better at getting to the potty for wee's now.

If shes physically ready she should be able to hold a wee for over an hour. Id get the tomee tippie pottett that has bags they wee in for disposal like a nappy, it's also a toilet seat.
I always do clothes on never naked. Personally if I'm out id put pull up over pants to contain leaks but never tell them it's okay to wee in them.. works as long as you didn't use nappy pants. Toilet before you go out and as soo as your back. If there are toilets where your going do it on arrival and before departure even if they don't ask you will be fine.

I still being a pottette out for day trips and they’re amazing on road trips.

Start off with little outings. Always go to the toilet before you leave for anywhere. Take her to go every hour or 1.5 hours- don’t ask, just tell her it’s time- “time for a wee…” or don’t even mention it, just put her on the potty. Bring changes of clothes, wipes, carrier bags. You can get little waterproof cover things for car seats and pushchairs so you just wash that- not the whole thing.

Expect accidents. It’s normal. Avoid posh sofas and visiting friends for a while!

Well I think she has got it in just 5 days and im super shocked and so happy. She got the wee's yesterday at home. And today we went out all day just in the countryside for a walk. Took the potty and spares half way round she shouted " mumma I need a wee" she got it in the potty and did that again and again. Not one accident all day :)

Thanks everyone for the support went much better than I expected!

Yaaay! Well done!! Don’t worry if there are days where it regresses a bit- also normal. But fantastic! Isn’t it strange the way it suddenly clicks?
