Daughter will only use potty when naked!

Just looking for advice or anybody who’s been in a similar situation and how you resolved it!

Basically, my daughter will only use her potty if she has nothing on her bottom half. She will happily do wee’s and poo’s without even being prompted on her potty. She just takes herself to her potty and does her business with no accidents.

However as soon as I put a pull up, potty training pants or big girl pants on, she just wee’s or poo’s in them! I have explained to her she needs to pull them down or mummy will help her and she says ok mummy but then still just does the deed in her pants or pull ups!

Will she grow out of this or is there anything else I can do to help her?

I was just coming to start the same thread, my DS is doing the exact same thing!

@Rainbowm how is your DD doing now? If there has been any improvement what have you been doing?

I've just read 'Oh Crap Potty Training' and the advice in there is that once a child will wee and poo with no clothes on, it's best to dress them but leave them commando otherwise they feel like they've got a nappy on. Then when that's mastered you can try putting on pants.

He is so excited and proud of himself after he uses the potty and I've not wanted him to lose confidence by having accidents, if that's even a thing.

Hijacking this thread as for some reason MN won't let me start my own and its a simular concern...

Currently potty training my DS and its going well, he's using the potty of his own volition with very few accidents in between. No number twos on the potty yet...

Anyway I'm stumped now, he will not let me put anything on his bottom half to try and teach him what to do, putting on a nappy pants for naps and bedtime is battle now.

How do I go about getting him to wear pants or something on his bottom half, I've tried offering stickers and a treat, even a trip to the swings and he won't wear anything!
