Ok so here's some background and hoping someone can help or listen etc

My little boy, the eldest, is 3 years 3 months . He's not saying a great deal which we are dealing with speech therapist and saw the Paedtrician last week who thinks he's autistic but we on the waiting list for a diagnosis.

Because of his lack of speech we haven't potty trained or tried to do until yesterday afternoon after nursery as he goes every morning to nursery for 3 hours.

So we had naked time after lunch until bed time with the tv on to distract him and he went in the potty once I sat him there with the tv. He done both A few times. Once I turned off he had accidents on the sofa despite me trying to get him to the potty on time

Anyway I was gonna keep him off all day today but decided to send him in and then naked again this afternoon plus all weekend. Partly cos I have an 11 month old who needs me too so it's hard trying to keep an eye on a naked child plus watch the baby but also as im stressing myself over it all. Is it bad if he spends the next week every day after nursery watching tv sat on the potty? It not how else can I reward him? Not sure chocolate toys etc will work. I really wish he could say more and tell me when he needs to go

I did put normal boys pants on at one point yesterday but he had an accident through them
And didn't seem fazed

Could I send him to nursery in just pants on Monday? They said I could but is it too soon?

I'm not entirely sure what the logic is to be on a potty and watching tv.

I'd forget the potty and just let him go on the toilet, he's old enough.
buy a child's toilet seat (Baby Bjorn one is fab) that goes on top of the normal seat and a bathroom step so he can get on the seat unaided

and chocolate as a treat did work for us.
they'd get a smartie (as in one piece, not a full tub!) every time they did a poop or wee in the loo.

I think on average it took about 4 weeks for them to get used to it.
I stopped the treats after that but they got a small toy (Lego) to celebrate being a big boy/girl & going by themselves (obv they needed help with cleaning for a while)
