Refusing to sit on toilet or potty

My DD is 2.5. She is super smart and very much ready for potty training (aware when she needs to go and can hold it) but she is absolutely adamant she will not sit on the potty or toilet. We've tried several attempts and different tactics (naked from the waist down - she held it till she was rolling around in pain, pants on and she just wet herself and got upset). We have tried every bribe going, attempted to make it a game etc but she is so strong willed and stubborn she point blank refuses. Anyone else managed to overcome this?

I didn't have the problem of my daughter refusing to be naked from waist down but she didn't like sitting on the potty or toilet at first. I just kept trying to sit her on the potty every hour or so and it felt it may of become a power struggle so I started bringing in the bathroom with me everytime I used the toilet and I got her to sit on the potty and made out to her it was just a normal seat. I praised myself to her everytime I had a wee by saying yaaay, mummy had a wee! Haha, I know, it sounds funny. YouTube kids came in handy to get her to sit on the potty. Eventually after so many times of her sitting on the potty she just started weeing on it. Many parents will probably judge me for giving her screen time to get her to sit on the potty, but you have to do what you have to do. Eventually she just started weeing on it all by herself.

I would say just focus on one thing for now, it's no big deal yet if your daughter won't sit on the toilet yet, the potty will still be an important learning curve for her. If she doesn't want to be naked waist down yet thats fine. Just treat the potty as a normal seat for now and let her sit on it fully clothed whatever way you can get her to sit on it, I won't judge you. I had to use plenty of screen time and smarties. Even if she has an accident in her clothes while she's sat on the potty that's still a start and you can gradually work towards her wearing nothing waist down or just a pair of knickers. Plus when you say she had an accident with pants on and got upset, that's good if she can feel she's had an accident. It will help her learn Smile my daughter 2 and a half is really good now at weeing on the toilet, I put a kids and adult toilet seat combo on the toilet. I've only use the potty for out and about now but she still has accidents occasionally and still poos in her clothes. Maybe she might like a potty that looks more like a seat and you can get some really fun looking ones with a toilet roll holder too. Maybe try putting one in her room too where all her toys and books are. She will get there Smile I know it can get infuriating, my carpet got weed on so much at the start.

I'm sorry of I sound flippant and asking a totally obvious question but really if she refuses to sit on toilet or potty how can you say she is very ready for toilet training? If she won't sit on the thing then she clearly isn't ready to do it (even if she is able which sounds like she is) you will drove yourself crazy trying to bribe her on to it. She is ready in some ways but not fully. There is no need to push it really is there?

My DD2 refused to sit on the potty or toilet so I ended up holding her over it and she'd wee like that?! Eventually she learned to like sitting on the toilet.

Let her pee standing up? We used the bath, but the woman who wrote, 'Oh crap! Potty training' suggests a large disposable cup.
