Oh Crap method & naps

I'm not sure if I've just missed it, but I don't understand when -using the Oh Crap method- you stop using a nappy at nap time?

I think there's a bit in the book about naps and sleep. I can't help as we trained DS after he dropped his nap.

Best bet potty pre nap and you'll probably be fine. What I found is that during the nap isn't generally the issue it's that they go as soon as they wake up if they need to go. So immediately putting them onto the potty is the best bet, even if they are half asleep. So maybe remove trousers/ tights before nap to make it easier. Obviously have a waterproof sheet on their bed or a waterproof fabric liner ( fleece thing to absorb with waterproof inner layer ) if sleeping on sofa or in pushchair.

My DS had generally stopped napping by the time he was potty trained, but falling asleep in the car or pushchair was a danger time. Getting wee out of the car seat was not fun. Always have spare clothes plus more spare clothes, towels, wipes.

My son was still doing a wee and poo in his lunchtime nap nappy at 2 weeks after starting potty training. One day we just took the nappy off...immediately dry in the nap, no issues at all. Just go for it! Put some towels down and get a mattress protector just in case though.

We just kept a nappy on at naptime, now it's 2months later and she's dropped the nap so it's not an issue.

No! Nappy for nap time and say it’s because they are learning.

We kept DD with her nappy on but eventually realised after about 2 months nursery were no longer bothering and she was dry there. However she slept only 40-60 mins there and 90 mins at home, so I was worried if I took it off her she would have a shorter nap. So I waited until her nap had gone to 1hr itself at home and then got rid. This was only a few weeks ago and she's been trained 6 months, she still occasionally wets the bed during her nap usually if she's refused to wee immediately before nap. Normal routine is a wee immediately before nap and then usually a wee soon after waking. She's still in nappies overnight though.

I've never done the Oh Crap method, but with all the children I've trained, I've found that they don't need a nappy at nap times. I get them to use potty/loo immediately before and after naps and there are very rarely accidents. I have noticed before starting potty training that little ones will often wake up with a dry nappy after their nap.
