Hello. My 2yo (30 months) is doing really well with his potty training during the day. We do have the odd accident - mainly when he’s really into something and he(and we) miss the signs.
Last night I had a restless night (the usual 3rd tri hip pain sleep thing). Whilst I was tossing and turning I heard over his monitor that he must be awake (just a heavy breath not crying or talking) so I took a look.
He was awake, lying there with his eyes open and he was almost like bouncing up and down... didn’t know what he was doing at first but then I thought he must be needing a wee and maybe not wanting to do it in his pull ups perhaps. When he needs a wee in the day he sometimes runs around, and we can tell he needs to go.
He didn’t call out to get up or go for a wee so at the time I didn’t know what to do. Do I go get him and put him on potty or not???
I didn’t think at his age we’d be starting to think about dry nights and toileting at night. He’s still in a cot. And as he doesn’t call out or ask to go at night how will I know unless I’m already awake and happen to spot it next time? I don’t want to wake him on purpose to go that doesn’t seem right.
Just felt bad for him if he was uncomfortable last night ...
Any thoughts?

Dream wee, also called 'lifting'. I went all in day and night together at about 20 months. We had practiced EC and was mostly dry at night before we did proper potty training. To begin with we'd pick her up asleep, sit her on the potty when we went to bed or at about 3am, she'd stay pretty much asleep throughout, wobbly sitting up wee. However, word of warning, first time I did this it freaked her out and she avoided the potty for a few weeks.. but after a few months it worked.

I'd wait until he gets up for a wee.
