Hi everyone,

my LG who will be 3 next month has been potty trained since March and I assumed it would take a lot longer to be dry at night..... I put her in a pull up the first night and she went to wee wee in it but since then she refuses to wee in a pull up.... instead she shouts me to take her for a wee wee upto 3 times a night.... this has been ongoing for nearnly 12 weeks.... I’m exhausted.... so I have tried to lift her before I go to bed and put her on the toilet whilst she’s half asleep and that seems to be going ok and she goes straight back off... but she still has me up again at least twice.... anyone have any advice? I monitor her fluids After 5pm (bedtime 7.30pm) is this just down the the kidneys still producing to much urine or her still being to little to hold it in? Any advice would be appreciated x

Potty in her room to use independently at night?

We hadn’t this with our two year old girl too. It was exhausting! No advice as we did the limiting liquids and potty in bedroom. Was so grateful that the boys used nappies at night until they were older!!!!

Following are we look to be heading the same way. Girl too, exact same age. Not dry in the day though!

Overnight bladder control takes two independent items, the production of a chemical - vaspressin, and a bladder that can expand. If your daughter is waking up 2-3 times overnight, it means that either one or both is not ready yet. She is getting the trigger to wake with a full bladder, so having her wear pull-ups to bed is not a good idea. if you are worried about accidents, plastic and an absorbent pad under her will cover it.

A potty in the room will allow her to wake and void without your help - once she gets the hang of it. That means for the next few nights, you know your own daughter, you will have to be awake to assist her to get out of bed. She can go to the potty, pull down her pants / lift her night dress and sit on the potty to void. Do not worry if she wakes up wet as it will occur a few nights until the vaspressin levels build up.
