Thinking of potty training DS.

He will sit on the big toilet before bath time.

So those that have potty trained which potty would you recommend? Or would you just start with the booster on the adult toilet?

My DD wasn't interested in the potty and to be honest I find the thought of them a bit odd - especially the parents who have one in every room when toilet training - rather than just running them up the stairs (or even downstairs loo!) - to me it seems it's just teaching kids they can walk two paces to go for a wee in and 💩 in any room they please when in reality you have to hold it till you get to the toilet especially when out and about (but then again these are maybe the parents who will whip out a potty in a queue at the shops 🤔)

We went straight to a booster seat for the toilet - but left it a bit later than a lot of people - DD was nearly 3 but we cracked it over a weekend

If he's happy with using the toilet, I would stick with that as I hate cleaning potties. If you go for a potty, the chair type with an insert bit are much easier to empty and clean.

We never bothered with a potty as didn't see the need. We got a toilet seat with an attached child seat which made it so easy.

Ds was just over 2 when potty trained and he didn't like the toilet because he couldn't do it himself so preferred the potty. It was summer infant one that looks like a mini toilet complete with flush sound.

That being said if he was happy to sit on the toilet then don't bother with a potty.

Have you come across a family loo seat? Rather than a booster. Basically you replace the toilet seat with a family one which has a second loo seat that pulls down to reduce the size. It's very stable and has magnets that holds it up to the lid when not needed.

I’ve bought the trainer seat as we have a D toilet and not a great selection of 2-1 seats!

If needed I’ll have to get a potty!
