Any advice trying my best ☹️. My 23 month old has been going on the toilet for all her poos for about 2 months now. She asks to go and goes for 1 or 2 wees a day on the toilet if she feels like it but goes in her pull up the other times. We have a 5 week old so she is struggling with jealousy don't want to push her as it's a lot of change.

I have tried a week of no pull up before the birth and it was a disaster! As soon as she knew the wee was going on the floor she thought it was hilarious and went back to pull ups but she is still asking to go once or twice a day.

Problem is when she hasn't gone the loo she goes mental when I try to change her. When I ask if she needs to go the loo through the day she screams no.

Just stop the pull ups. It's confusing for her and gives her the option of ignoring the 'need to wee' signals.

Yes she will have wet knickers/trousers, it's part of toilet training. You can either stay at home bottomless for a bit (probably not hard with a 5 week old in this weather Grin) or just keep being mildly disappointed if she wets her knickers rather than letting her find it funny. Make her help you put her wet clothes in the wash and help you 'clean up' any mess (we got them to hold the kitchen roll).

She will learn, probably quite quickly, but not if you keep letting her wear pull ups.

It might not be the perfect time but there never will be a perfect time. I would make an effort to make going to the toilet for a wee the time she gets mummy alone without the baby so there is an incentive, and lots of lots of praise and talk about how wonderfully she is doing.
