I have a 5 year old son, and im struggling to get him dry. My daughter was easy, but my son is a different story.
Iv reduced fluids, made him go for a wee before bed time, iv even done the lifting thing but he just cries and becomes uneasy. Some nights he can be dry and then others he has accidents.
When hes dry my family and i dance to make it more fun to make it something to be proud of. Im at my wits end with it as he now starting Year 1 at school.
Any advice or tips to try and get my boy dry?? I have considered one of these monitor things but again im unsure.

Help a mother in need please.....

Had problems with my second child. Tried everything including a buzzer which went off when wet. Returned to live in the UK and had him checked out by doctor who sent us to a clinic at our local hospital. They prescribed medication and within a week he was dry at night and never regressed.
So my recommendation is to get referred to a clinic. Good luck.

How old was your child when you were referred. My boy is only 5, he understands the concept but just cant seem to master it

He's 5.
Put a night nappy or PJ pants or similar on him, and let him sleep.
Its s hormone thing. You singing a dancing isnt going to make a difference, as he's not actually in control of what's going on.

If there is mo change in 18 months, talk to the GP.

It's a physiological thing- about a hormone being produced. He's still quite young and will likely get there.

I don't think doing proud dancing will do much to help as he can't control it.

Rain, cross post!

He’s still young enough to not be overly worried about dry at night. You can dance all you want but it’s subconscious so he can’t control it.

Give it another year - put some pull ups on him and see how he goes

Why have you posted this in two places?

Same situation with 5 yr old DS going into yr one. Saw GP last week, check for UTI which he doesn’t have so now waiting for a referral for the community. GP said v common in boys and not to worry.

Take him to GP just to get him in the system x
