Anxious about potty training

Hi, so my 2 and half year old has started showing signs of being ready to potty train, ive been encouraging her to sit on it for a while and now she seems interested to use it, she asked me to go on it today then did a wee. Im so anxious to start trying it properly because of our 40minute journey to nursery on buses in the morning. Im so worried about her peeing herself on the way especially on the bus seats and then everyone staring, i was going to wait till i had a week off work in august but i don't want to miss this chance of her wanting to use it and her getting bored of it. I don't really want to use pull ups for travelling as it may confuse her id rather do all or nothing...any tips? I also add that she is at her dads this weekend so would want to do it when shes with me for the 2weeks as i think if she went to him as shes just starting it wouldnt be consistent and he would give in too easily and put a nappy back on x

Don’t put a nappy on her for the journey but sit her on puppy pads or boots maternity pads to soak up any accidents.

I did think about puppy pads but its also the fact i would have to complete the journey with her pants all wet as theres no where to change her on the way unless i strip her in the street, would be so much easier if i had a car but doesn't look like id be able to get one till next year and i definitely cant leave it that long, we also have a wedding coming up in 3 weeks, has anyone tried putting underwear on under a pull up? Would this make her feel like she isnt wearing a nappy?
