This is my first time using this site, but hopefully I can get some insight. My ds is 3.9 years old. He has been dry at night consistently since he was around 2.5 yo. Recently, he started wetting the bed on and off (three times a week max) this started round 6 weeks ago but he had just started a new daycare. We put this down to the change of daycare as mainly happened on nights he went daycare. This then stopped for around a week. Now he wets the bed at least once a night, last night it was three times!

We have taken him to the doctors previously who done a urine sample which came back clear, nothing else has change except his younger cousins did stay for this Easter holiday. We wake him up at least twice in the night to see if he needs the toilet which he says no too, but still wets the bed. He doesn’t even wake up when he has wet the bed, which is just as worrying. He doesn’t have any accidents during the day whatsoever.
He does still have a sippee cup throughout the night though, but he always had, and we’ve only just got this problem now.
Has anyone experienced this and figured out what it was? Does anyone have any suggestions? x

Is he constipated slightly? That affects their bladder. He might not be having a proper poo at childcare and the pressure might be affecting his ability to control his bladder.

Or perhaps he's very tired and sleeping through cues.

Just put nighttime pull ups on. Stop the attention/hassle either way and take them away after a week of dryness.

He has suffered with chronic constipation since he started solid foods as a baby. He was on medications for this but recently been referred to a paediatrician. So I did think this could why originally, but then thought he has had this since well before being dry and he managed a full year without accidents except maybe five in that whole year to suddenly have them nightly. So I don’t think it is, if that makes sense x

@isadoora2007 when I spoke to go last week about ds she advised against this has he has been dry for so long she didn’t want to risk the need he may feel for nappies again.

He has three mattress protectors and three sheets, I also have lately been checking on him every 1.5 hours until around 1:30am to make sure his not laying in his own wetness. When he does wee, we normally just wake him up and ask him if he needs another wee whilst I change the bedding etc and tuck him in again. I do reinforce to him that this is normal and sometimes it happens but we should try to wake up and go the bathroom. Tbh he doesn’t seem to bothered about wetting the bed.

Could be tiredness, I have certainly been thinking that.

I would suggest constipation too.
Read the ERIC website and talk to their helpline.

Keep a stool diary and check the stool chart on ERIC.

"Tbh he doesn’t seem to bothered about wetting the bed."

This sounds like he is just being lazy, have him help with changing the bed eg taking the sheets to the washing machine & having a shower
