Would also like to know when the best time to start potty training 😊

2.1 and 2.3. I would highly recommend the Oh Crao Potty Training book, which I used as a refresher before I trained DD2. There is a window where potty training is easiest and it sets out all the signs to look for

DS was 2.5.

Wait for them to show almost all signs of readiness, then it is much easier!

We potty trained DS when he was just over 2, using the oh crap method. Worked brilliantly for us. Personally I don’t believe in waiting for the child to be ready, I wanted him out of nappies ASAP and the oh crap book gave me the confidence that he’d be fine. 7 out of my NCT group of 8 were trained before they were 2.5 with very little drama.

Around 3 for both of mine. Dd is 3.2 and we potty trained her last weekend, I say we but she actually just decided it was time to wear knickers! Two or three accidents on Saturday and nothing since. Ds was the same, no particular methods or anything, just waited until I thought they were ready and it took a day or two.

When she just turned 3 - she was dry both night and day within about 3 days.

EyeDrops · 10/10/2018 08:50

Shortly before turning 3. Cracked it in a few days fortunately.

About 2 years 6 months give or take. There is definitely a window where it’s easiest. Child led doesn’t work very well and leads to problems such as healthy children starting school in nappies.

Took each of the money about 4-5 days to crack it unless they had a tummy bug.

22mo - Oh Crap method which was recommended by a friend.

DS is 21mo now and I'd love to train him soon but I need to find some time home from work!

Tried at 2.7. DS not really interested. 2 weeks later he asked for pants, and he was toilet trained for wees and poi’s, night and day in a couple of weeks.

DD asked for pants at 2.3. Took her a couple of days.

I think the key was letting them know that pants are an option, but waiting for them to ask.

I didn't really potty train, when son was coming up to two and knew when he wanted to go I suggested he tried potty. By two he was doing it. Used to ask me to take his trousers off, bless. If he hadn't been so amenable I wouldn't have worried, it would have happened sooner or later. The best thing is to be relaxed about it.

BackforGood · 11/10/2018 23:26

From 2nd birthday - dc1
2 and 2m - dc 2
22m for dc 3

Affected by time of year, and by what else was going on in life at the time.

BraayTigger · 11/10/2018 23:35

DD - 2.4 months. Stayed home all weekend and followed her around literally all weekend with a potty. No nappies. Cracked it in 2 days.

florenceheadache · 12/10/2018 04:10

18 months.

Zakariyasully17 · 12/10/2018 22:34

All of my children were dry day and night by the time they were 2 but boy had some accidents during the night

Fionz · 21/10/2018 21:15

Started potty training my DD when she was 8 weeks old. I would've started earlier but she was a month premature x
