My 6 year old daughter has been on dosmomelt for her emotions are everywhere laughing the sobbing the next! I hate putting medicines in her body I like her to be natural so not sure if I’m doing the right thing!
She only drinks water and almond milk, the tablet worked the first night which she is taking at 9pm stopping any fliuds at 8pm, but she had the biggest wee at 7.15am this morning so it’s wore off by the morning 🤦‍♀️ Hopefully someone can help!

If she is displaying strange behaviour then stop the medication, don't wait for the 12 week check up.

This is supposed to happen as you don't want her retain water too long. it is designed to work for about 12 hours and then stop. You may have to wake her slightly earlier. Other wise you get water retention and swollen feet.

At 6 she is still within the developmentally normal range for not being dry at night.

Obviously you are seeing a dr for her and getting medical advice but my personal view is what does it matter if she isn't dry at her age? Dd was 8 and went from wet to dry overnight and has never had a wet bed since. Ds2 is now 6 and a half and still in pull ups overnight, I figure my kids are just a bit late with it and it doesn't matter.

She is missing a hormone in her body which slows her kidneys and bladder down I’m not choosing to put her on the medicine her body at 6 should already be producing this hormone and isn’t. She still wets during the day this is not just a bed wetting problem. If only the doctors gave out a magic pill just to make our children dry at night. Xx
