Transition from potty to toilet - where to start?

Managed to get DD to use the potty fine (using the Oh crap! methods - she's 2.5) but now I'm at a loss how to transition to a toilet. (She's been using the potty competently for a month).

I have a seat adapter but DD is so attached to her potty now that she has no interest in the actually toilet whatsoever!

Is this an issue, will she naturally want to use the toilet at some point or should I 'train' her to use it?

Any advice or stories appreciated!
TIA!

I'd just keep offering toilet or potty and keep the potty next to the toilet. Also let keep letting her spend time in the bathroom when you're on the toilet (pleasant I know! Wink) is that you can model using the toilet as much as possible.

What worked for us was getting one of these www.amazon.co.uk/Families-Childrens-Toilet-Soft-Close/dp/B00TYYVMH8/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=family+toilet+seat&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1522691191&sr=8-5

Although goit it from lidl for about £15 and a step. She felt more like a grown up and was really pleased with herself when she used it.

Placemarking as we are in exactly the same position! I've only just introduced the potette thing with the hope that something familiar on the floor will transition to the toilet once he's happy to climb up.

Shamelessly following!

Will She use it when you're out of the house?

We went away for the weekend and didn't bring the potty. I used to hold DD on the toilet but I realised over the weekend that she could hop up and hold herself on the seat, so when we got home we "couldn't find" the potty.

Now it's in her room so she can use it in the night but she will happily use the downstairs toilet the rest of the time.

That's a good idea! We are away next week so I might 'forget' the potty and see how she goes.

This is a phase of potty training I was totally unprepared for!

We had this too. DD just didn't want to go on the toilet at all. We ended up in a cafe with a tiny loo and she didn't want to use the potty as I think it was pretty enclosed, resulting in an accident. So we bought a child seat thing and she still didn't want to. So i used a reward for her first go and it worked Blush

I just told DS we haven't got a potty anymore so he will have to be a big boy and use the toilet like mummy/daddy/sister now he's so good at poos and wees. I bought him a seat thing and didn't go back on it- he was totally fine after the first wee and it also sorted out him not wanting to go out the house
