Potty training regression after new baby... what's the best way to deal with it?

Ds (2.3) has been potty trained for 1 month and took to it immediately. We had no accidents after day 1 using the oh crap method and he takes himself to the potty/ toilet when at home or asks when we are out.

His new sister was born last week and we are going through a major regression. 6+ accidents per day where he just stands and wee's through his clothes (something he never did even at the beginning) on purpose. I know this is normal and I expected something like this but wanted to make sure we are dealing with it right!

We are calmly taking him to the potty and getting him to try and use it (though he has often done by then) and are trying not to make too much of a fuss or get cross... and reiterating that big boys wee on the potty and next time he needs to sit on the potty before he wees. Does anyone have any other advice that might help? And if you had this new sibling related regression how long did it last?

We know he can do it so we will just be consistent and hope it will pass quickly I suppose!

TIA

With our DC1 we had deliberate weeing on the floor for attention, after he was reliably trained. It wasn't when DC2 arrived but there was definitely a link.
We at first told him off/that's not what we do etc. but then we started to not talk about it at all - change him without any words and clean up without any words. He got a bit bored of not getting attention for it so he stopped.
Our DC2 is now doing this (but we suspect more because she's tired/distracted rather than for attention). We are trying to give her praise/reward for staying dry for a period of time (I know Oh Crap! doesn't recommend rewards but we did them with DC1 at first and they worked well plus it was easy to phase them out) e.g. sticker for dry all morning. So far it's having a very tiny amount of success but I think you more have the issue we had with DC1 to be honest.

Thanks for the response! We basically started doing what you have said...no interaction when accidents but super fuss/round of applause when he made it... plus some bribery and after 5 awful days the last 3 days have been great so we are back on track for now!

Phew!
I won't tell you that at 5 he still uses weeing on the floor as a protest but only occasionally

Honestly, I would put him back in nappies and start again in a couple of months. Watch out for other types of regression as well - wanting to bed fed, wanting milk from a bottle etc.
