Recommendations for a potty for a girl

Hi, I have a 21 month old daughter. She has literally just started walking unaided, but is still quite wobbly (she's later than most to walk, but she is also bigger than average which could make it more difficult to balance). In the last week she has started pointing to her nappy, which I took as a sign she might be ready to start potty training. I bought her a standard potty from Boots. Tonight, I showed it to her, I sat on it myself (making sure I didn't break it with my weight!), I showed her some videos on YouTube of other children on the potty, but she seems to hate it and every time I put it near her, she put up her hand and said 'no'. I'm wondering whether she isn't ready for potty training or whether she just doesn't like this particular potty. I don't want to postpone the potty training just yet without trying a different potty. I wondered if any of you could recommend a potty that children seem to really like? Thank you.

There's a long way to go for a child between knowing when they're weeing and being emotionally/ psychologically ready to use a potty.

It's a good idea to have a potty around though that she can see and touch so she gets the idea. Once she's used to it start talking about her doing wee's on it when she feels ready. I wouldn't push it if she refuses or it'll become an issue

Its not the potty putting her off, she's just not ready. (Our LO was a late walker too, and started being aware of poo-poo nappy at the same time, but is not quite ready for potty training).

Luckily we have help in the form of my mum, who thinks nothing of plonking herself on the toilet when DD is in the bath and says "look at nanny doing wee-wee sitting down" Hmm

Thanks Silver, she is my first child so I'm totally new to it and appreciate any advice from someone who has gone through it. I don't think she's ready and the fact she is so hostile towards he potty seems to suggest this. I will keep the potty out so she gets used to it being around, but I won't say anything. She is also very limited in her vocabulary so isn't ready to talk about it yet.

Thanks high. I was naievely thinking that her being aware of her nappy was a sign she was ready for potty training, but it sounds like it is very early days. I'm really wary about not enforcing it upon her until she is ready. The fact she seems to have taken an instant dislike to her potty seems to suggest that she knows what it is for, and is telling me she isn't ready for it.

Fisher price my potty friend is brilliant because it sings when they pee it in and I think it's so cute. I bought a normally potty which she didn't like then bought the toilet seat toppers and step which she didn't like but the fisher price potty is great
